Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Firebird Auction?
It is the major fundraiser for the year, as well as being a fun-filled event
held every year in April. This year’s theme is “New York, New
York.” The evening will include a delicious buffet (caterer yet to be
determined) with entertainment provided by the fabulous and very talented
Holy Ghost Prep Jazz Band and featuring some of our wonderful singers, Live
and Silent auctions, a wheelbarrow of “cheer”, and a fabulous
new raffle.
What is the purpose of the Firebird Auction?
The auction provides the funds necessary to support a variety of school vital
needs, including academic programs and campus needs. ALL money raised from
the auction DIRECTLY BENEFITS THE STUDENTS OF HGP.

“Early Bird Special” If you get your RSVP and ticket money in
NO LATER than April 1, 2008, the cost is $130.00 per couple (that’s
a $20.00 per couple savings!)

Can I afford this event?
Absolutely!!! Auction items cover a wide range of prices from $25 and up.
Why not consider going in on a large item with a group of friends.
Where do the Firebird Auction items come from?
With so many organizations now depending on auctions to raise funds, merchants
are inundated with requests for donations. As a result, most businesses give
auction donations only to regular customers. The auction committee needs the
support of all Holy Ghost Prep families to meet our goal this year. We strongly
suggest that each family make a personal donation to either the live or silent
auction AND solicit a donation of goods or services from a business with whom
they deal on a regular basis or from whom they are making a major purchase.
What is a “Wish List?”
Want to make a donation but can’t think of anything? Just go to our
“Wish List” at the Holy Ghost Prep web site where you will find
plenty of suggestions.
What is the "Quick Check"? And how does it work?
As a “Quick Check” guest, you will receive a special “blinky
light” identifying you. This will enable you to make purchases throughout
the evening by simply signing for them (raffle tickets, special drawings,
etc.) At the conclusion of evening, you will pick up your invoice indicating all
of your purchases at the special “Quick Check” line, retrieve
your items, and be one your way!
No waiting.
If you make no purchases, your original check (voided) or your credit card
form will be destroyed. Sit back and enjoy the evening without worrying about the cashiering line.
